I research medieval cultural history by means of the liturgy, sacred space, and the built environment. I am the author of _A Sacred City: Consecrating Churches & Reforming Society in 11th-c. Italy_ (Manchester, 2010). I have published articles on the use of GIS as a tool for ritual and literary analysis. Follow the link to "Mapping the Medieval" at my Drew Univ. to learn more.
